Interview Q&A
How long have you been in business?
Ten years.
What is your primary product or service?
Business writing such as website content, brochure copy, press releases, newsletter articles, and resumes.
How did you first become interested in your line of business? (if owner) - What is your background? (If owner or store manager)
After working as a technical writer, a publications assistant, and a website content writer, I gained exposure to a wide variety of markets. As a business major from Penn State, I knew a little about a lot when it came to the business environment. And I've always enjoyed writing with lots of positive accolades. It was a perfect fit.
How do you differentiate yourself from other businesses in your category and area?
Customer service - top notch. Skills - ditto.
How many locations do you have and do you have plans to expand?
One. Me.
Provide detailed directions to your location
I work out of a home office, doing business by phone, email, and the occasional meeting at my "office space" in Panera.
What type of payments do you accept?
Check and credit card.
Which areas do you service?
Global. I've had a client in India, one in Switzerland, and several across the country. Most of my business is local, however, due to word of mouth.
Who owns your company or runs daily operations?
Me, myself, and I.
What are your hours of operation?
Core business hours, with flexibility for beyond business hours when needed.
What is the best compliment anyone can give you?
After doing a resume, I often hear, "wow--is that really me?"
What is your favorite quote or Bible verse?
As far as my business goes, it is this: "Do you see someone skilled in their work? They will serve before kings..." Prov. 22:9
