How long have you been in business?
8 years in Florida, 20 years total.
What is your primary product or service?
Audiology services including comprehensive hearing evaluations, hearing aid fitting and dispensing, counselling and ear wax removal.
How did you first become interested in your line of business? (if owner) - What is your background? (If owner or store manager)
I first became interested in audiology because of family members with hearing and speach issues. My mother had hearing loss and my younger daughter had a seizure disorder which affected her expressive language ability. I began a program of Communicative Disorders at San Francisco State University to help both of them. I gravitated to audiology whole heartedly as it became apparent my daughter was going to be fine. I moved to Kansas City to continue my masters program in audiology in 1993 at the University of Kansas after retiring from the US Army with 20 years of service. With the help of my wife's encouragement, I completed my doctorate (Au.D.) in 2008, the same year we moved to Florida. It's been a rewarding career so far, and we are continuing into the future.
How do you differentiate yourself from other businesses in your category and area?
We provide professional diagnostic services based upon intensive training and expertise. When appropriate, we fit the right hearing aids at a reasonable price, having accounts with most of the major hearing aid companies. We do not over fit or overprice.
What type of payments do you accept?
Visa, MasterCard, Discover, Care Credit, Cash. We are also in network providers for Medicare and Blue Cross Blue Shield of Florida. We will file out of network for any other major insurance company.
Which areas do you service?
Venice Florida primarily. We have many patients from Englewood, Port Charlotte, Nokomis, Osprey and Sarasota as well. Many northerners who visit us during season prefer to deal with Hearing Clinic of Venice Inc, Venice, FL than their hearing aid provider in their home cities, such as Detroit, Boston, Minneapolis, Cleveland etc.
Who owns your company or runs daily operations?
I (Richard Tibbils, Au.D.) along with 2 partners own the company. I run the daily operations.
What are your hours of operation?
9AM to 4 PM Monday thru Friday.
What is the best compliment anyone can give you?
Refer your family or friends to us for your hearing needs. We are here to help.
